It was built between 1980 - 82 and has 270 homes on it. Most of these are in the five storey barrier block, one of the first of its kind. It was designed to shield the estate from the noise of the North Circular.  Most windows face south with few windows facing the road. The rest of the estate is made up of terraced houses and maisonettes.     

It was originally built for Camden and Islington Councils, transferring to Peabody in 1998.
 Many residents still living here moved in when it was new.
